Q Ranch offers several choices for lodging: a campsite; a bunkhouse with a full kitchen for those who prefer to bring and prepare their own food; and the main lodge, with comfortable rooms, interior and exterior access and all meals provided.
Rooms at the lodge are decorated with antique furnishings and each room has its own unique character. The lodge has six upstairs bedrooms, each of which sleeps two. Four rooms contain two twin beds, one has a queen size bed and 1 has a double bed. There are three shared bathrooms upstairs. The upstairs may be accessed via two staircases, one inside and one outside.
An additional guest bedroom is located downstairs has a king sized bed and a bathroom that is shared with diners and day visitors.
There is also a self-contained bunkhouse adjacent to the lodge. The bunkhouse has two twin beds; a sitting area; a fully-furnished kitchenette with sink, stove and refrigerator; a 3/4-bath and a clothes washer.
Your night's stay in the main lodge includes dinner on the day of your arrival, and breakfast and lunch (sometimes brunch, on Sundays) the next day. Guests staying in the bunkhouse may elect to take their meals at the lodge, or they may bring their own food and prepare and eat their meals at the bunkhouse. The Q has a reputation for fine dining and excellent meals, and every effort is made to accommodate the dietary needs of guests.
There is a special refrigerator set aside for guest who wish to bring their own special snacks and/or beverages, including alcohol.
There is also a quiet, forested campsite, located a few hundred yards to the west of the lodge. The campsite has a latrine and a cold-water shower. Drinking water is available at the camp site. Please bring a grill or cook stove, as open campfires are not permitted during much of the season due to fire danger.
Reasonable effort is made to accommodate the dietary needs of guests. Meals are served family style; diners do not select from a menu. The nearest grocery store is in Payson (a 90-minute drive) and the nearest place to eat is a single venue in Young, a 22-mile drive. We regret that we are not able to serve vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free meals.
Pets are not permitted.
Smoking is permitted only on the patio and in the carport. Butt cans are provided for the disposal of smoking materials. Fire danger is often extreme during non-monsoon conditions, so smokers are urged to be careful.
Q Ranch is "off the grid." Generators provide electricity. Water comes from one of several wells. There is no TV or phone service. The ranch is a cell phone dead zone. The nearest signal, depending on your provider, is 2-12 miles away. There is whole-house satellite wi-fi. Due to bandwidth limitations, guests bringing laptops are asked to confine their use to email only. There is no air-conditioning; daytime temps rarely reach discomfort levels and nighttime temps drop into the 60s or below.
